PDF 24 News

A next version of PDF24 Creator is in development. Here are some informations about the next version:

• We have restructured the whole program so that future development will be easier and therefore new version will be available in shorter times.
• We have changed the language systems. The new language file structure is better and easier for translators.
• We have corrected some program icons, so that icons in correct size will be displayed.
• We have intruduced a screen capture feature, by which you can capture the screen to create a PDF. Very nice!
• We have introduced a system tray icon for pdf24 Creator by which the new screen capture feature becomes available. We use the tray icon for user informations too, to inform the user about problems.
• Multi-user support so that PDF24 Creator can run in an multi-user environment is in schedule.
• We redevelop some core components so that we better support new Vista design.

PDF24 has developed a widget for Blogger.com blogs. The widget displays a small box in which readers can enter an email address. After clicking the send button in the box a PDF file will be created and sent to the entered email address. To install the widget in your Blogger.com blog follow the instructions on the PDF24 Blogger.com PDF widget project page.

The PDF24 Creator setup is created with InnoSetup. Therefore you can use all the command flags which are documented on InnoSetup developer page. There is also flags for installing in silent mode without user interaction.

If you have downloaded the pdf24.exe you can start the setup with
pdf24.exe /SILENT or with
pdf24.exe /VERYSILENT

When installing with argument /SILENT, the setup installs the pdf24 creator without user interaction but display the installation process.
When installing with argument /VERYSILENT, the setup installs pdf24 creator without user interaction to, but don’t displays the installation process.

This is very nice for firms which wants to install the pdf24 creator on client pc’s via network.

We habe released another release of PDF24 Creator with version 2.5.1. The version contains a better icon set with large icons for windows vista and windows 7. Icons look now much better if you have choosen a large preview in windows. Forthermore this version contains a better language selection at program start. This version is shipped with a german and english language file. The older version 2.5 has a problem selecting the correct language on non german systems. On this systems the german language file is choosen at first program start, but this is bad. Besides this the language can be changed via the small PDF creation assistent and in settings of PDF editor user interface.

The new version 2.5.1 is now the default pdf24 creator download. Have fun with the new version.

Hello,

we have improved our setup program of PDF24 PDF Creator so that the PDF Software can be installed and used on Windows 7 now. The setup can be used for 32 bit and 64 bit environments. We are also working on a new version. A lot of new feature and improvements are already integrated. We have a lot to do until the new version is ready for use. In a few weeks the time has come. It’s worth waiting.

Common
PDF24 has developed a new Wordpress PDF plugin for the Wordpress Blog. The plugin works with Wordpress up to version 2.8 and therefore also with the newest Wordpress version.

This plugin enables your readers to convert one or more articles into pdf files. Therefore a little box can be shown below every article, in the sidebar or on the top or bottom af a page. In that boxes you can fill in your e-mail address. After sending the form a pdf file will be created and sent to the entered email address.

New Features

• Predefined languages: German, English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, French, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Swedish , Greek
• Redesigned plugin options page to configure the plugin.

Installation

1. Unpack the plugin zip archive in your wordpress plugin folder /wp-content/plugins/
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress admin area
3. Configure the plugin in wordpress admin area Settings->PDF24 Plugin

The plugin is configured to display a small pdf box below each article by default. The plugin can display boxes below each article, in the sidebar or on the top or bottom of each page. To enable or disable some of these boxes please change the plugin settings.

You have to insert some peace of code into a template file if the sidebar box or the top/bottom box should be displayed:

Insert the following code into the sidebar.php, where the sidebar pdf box should appear.
